The process to make application to the state of Florida for the initial license process is the following:
- Cooke School recommends that, if at all possible, as soon as the student decides to take the sales associate license course or the broker license course, the student should make application to the state. This can be accomplished by applying on-line or printing the application out and mailing the application in with a check. Students can pay the application payment on-line by credit card.
- Complete the application as honestly as you know how. DISCLOSE ALL.
- Applicant's Social Security number is required on the application.
- The application fee to the state of Florida is $105 for Salesperson and $115 for Broker.
- All license applicants must have their fingerprints taken to be approved to take the state exam. The total fee charged to complete this process varies by each vender, but is approximately $58. Here is a link the "Electronic Fingerprinting Information" for IMPORTANT information on this process.
- Your fingerprints can be taken at a Pearson VUE Exam Center. Reservations are necessary for this process. Reservations can be completed by calling Pearson VUE at 1/877-238-8232 and making reservations or going on the Pearson VUE web site and selecting "Fingerprint Services". The fee for the fingerprint process is $57.25 (Pearson VUE $15 and FDLE/FBI $42.25). Here is the link to the Pearson VUE Exam Fingerprinting locations in Florida: LINK
- Out of state applicants ONLY must receive a fingerprint card which can be obtained by calling the DBPR at 1/850-487-1395. Take the card to your local police department and mail completed fingerprint card to: FL - DBPR Florida Fingerprinting Program Inc. 119 East Park Avenue, Tallahassee, Florida 32301. You MUST read the "Electronic Fingerprinting Information" item number 13 to complete the process.
- Here are the locations for the Pearson Vue Exam Centers for both fingerprinting and the locations to take the state exam: LINK
- After you have completed the course, check this link to determine if your application is approved. >APPLICATION STATUS LINK<
- Students must take their course completion certificates to the Pearson Vue Exam Center when taking their exam unless the completion certificate was included in the application.

- At the time of registration for this on-line distance learning course, the student will receive two emails. One email is a receipt for purchase and the second one verifies the student's registration with a user name and password to access their Student Page.
- Students can access their Student Page by going to a Cooke web site then to the light blue icon on the right side of all web pages: "Cooke School Student Login". Insert user name and password received in the email in the place where indicated and the student will be on their Student Page.
- Textbooks come with all Cooke course packages. The books are mailed by Priority Mail by the U.S. Postal Service. The Postal Service advertises two to three day delivery.
-
This course is composed of
18 unit/chapters. The first session is the Orientation, which needs to be viewed and the Orientation quiz which the student needs to pass. After successfully passing the Orientation quiz Session One will light up.
-
After viewing each of the Session's videos, the student must then complete the vocabulary matching exercise by matching all the vocabulary words with the definitions.
-
The next step is to complete the quiz with a score of 80% or more. Students are encouraged to review the course session and find the correct answer. If the student did not score 80% on the quiz or 100% of the matching exercise, the student will need to retake the exercise until they have successfully passed.
-
A student can not move onto the
next session without passing the previous one and
the student will not be able to access the Practice Exam until everything is complete and passed.
-
To pass the Practice Exam a score of 70% or more is required.
-
Once the practice exam has been successfully completed the student will have access to the Course Evaluation and the Agreement.
- The Agreement states: "I certify that I personally completed all assignments and have not duplicated any portion of the end-of-course examination prior to taking the exam. " The student must select "yes" and click "enter" to take the final exam.
- Completion of the Course Evaluation is also a requirement by the school before the student is given access to the timed end-of-course exam.
-
The only portion of the course
that is timed is the 3 hour end-of-course exam and it must be completed in one sitting.
-
The exam is multiple choice with
four choices. The student must score a 70% or
more on the end-of-course exam.
- Upon successfully scoring 70% or more a Certificate of Completion is automatically generated and needs to be printed so the successful student can take the Certificate of Completion to the Pearson VUE exam center so they can take their state exam.
